Why does Excel use semicolons in some countries?

In languages where the decimal separator is a comma, Excel uses a semicolon as the CSV delimiter. For programs that expect comma-separated CSV you can change it here.

What if a cell contains a comma?

The tool wraps such cells in quotes automatically, so columns do not shift.

Can I convert a tab-separated file too?

Yes. You can convert in any direction between tab, semicolon, comma and pipe.
